Southern Area Regional Schools Championships January 2026

On 11th January 2026 Northampron Judo Academy kicked off 2026 with six players competing at a challenging contest. It was a strong start to the year and a great test for everyone involved.

Results:

• Naguib – 1st place, Gold 🥇
• Luca – 1st place, Gold 🥇
• Gloria – 3rd place, Bronze 🥉
• Luke – 4th place, Bronze 🥉
• Bertie – 5th place
• Oscar – 5th place

Every player who stepped onto the mat showed a high standard of judo. Even those who didn’t medal were extremely close and delivered strong performances throughout their contests. Both showed excellent timing and precision in their throws, including clean ippons that stood out during the day. You can see some of these moments in our reel on social media platforms - they were trully unfortegable!

Luca competed in a higher age and weight category and handled the step up very well. He applied his techniques confidently, made good decisions under pressure, and adapted well during his matches. This competition was an ideal way for him to return to competition, regain confidence, and get clear feedback on the areas we are currently developing in training.

Overall, this event was a valuable experience for the whole team and a solid way to start the competition calendar for 2026. We are proud of every judoka who represented the club and the attitude they showed on and off the mat.
