Frequently asked by new members

Who can join the competitive squad training?

The squad is invite-only. Players must train regularly in our Monday and Thursday fundamentals classes, show strong commitment, and have at least one year of judo experience.

How does a child get invited?

Invites are made by the coach based on attendance, effort, and achievements in lower-level competitions. Kids also need to show the right fitness abilities for their age, alongside the skill and drive to compete.

What age group is the squad for?

Competitive training is generally suitable for children aged 10 and above, but entry also depends on ability and readiness rather than age alone.

When are the squad training sessions?

Squad sessions run twice a week for 1.5h – on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Regular attendance at both is expected to maintain progress.

What do the sessions include?

Training combines advanced judo techniques, tactical randori, and a dedicated strength and conditioning section to build the athleticism needed for competition.

Why is the squad invite-only?

Competitive training requires higher intensity, discipline, and focus. Keeping it invite-only ensures the right environment where committed players can push each other and progress.
