Northampton Sho Grades Championships 2026

On Saturday 14th March 2026 we hosted our local development competition for Under 8 year old judokas, Winter Championships Northampton Under 8 Festival. This event was designed to introduce young players to the competition environment in a safe, supportive, and positive way. The goal of this event was to introduce children to a competition structure and help them to experience matches in a relaxed and positive enviroment.

A big thank you to the coaches and parents from surrounding judo clubs who visited us and showed great respect and understanding throughout the day.

Special shout-out to our trainee referees squad: Dima, Luca, Roberta, and Patrik. They helped with the setup, controlled 99% of the contests independently, learned a lot along the way, and then continued with their usual training afterwards!

Huge congratulations to all U8 players who stepped onto the tatami today, learned the contest rules quickly, and kept going even when the fights were tough. That’s true sportsmanship and the spirit of real warriors.
