On 6th September 2025, Keira competed at the English Closed Judo Championships in London and came away with a silver medal.
This was the first competition we attended after the summer school break, and it proved to be an optimistic start for our Competitive Squad. Due to the much higher level of competition at this event, we only invited a handful of players, and in the end just one was able to take part. Despite that, Keira represented the club brilliantly and achieved an excellent result.
Competing at such a high level is never easy, but she showed outstanding skill, determination, and fighting spirit throughout the day. Her performance was a great example of the hard work and commitment that goes into training, and we couldn’t be prouder of her achievement.
The English Closed is a Level 4 (L4) competition, one of the higher-level national events on the judo calendar. Competitions in the UK are graded by levels, with L1 and L2 being more introductory or regional, while L4 represents a strong standard of national competition. These events attract some of the best judoka from across the country, making Keira’s silver medal an outstanding accomplishment.
This silver medal is a fantastic way to kick off the new season and gives our Competitive Squad great motivation for the competitions ahead. We’re looking forward to building on this start and seeing more of our players test themselves at the higher levels.
